iPhone

At this point they have pretty much the same capabilities but the iPhone is simply so much better in the user interface. You'll fall in love with it. Even a cheap 3G one (although they are starting to slow down a bit with the newer software of course).

Android still isn't ready despite people really wanting it to be. It will one day take over the market but not yet. One of the biggest challenges they have which Apple don't with iOS is simply that Android has to be built to support all different hardware - screen sizes, processors, etc, etc, whereas iOS is purpose built for the hardware.
