Wages are not part of the 3 million they wanted.

I am sure there are two parts to the deal

The loan part (where agent,player and signing fees come in) and the signing fee in the summer.

It just seems like a lot of money for a player who would have little value at the end of his contract.
(e.g. Leroy Lita went on a free transfer aged 24)

At least with our other big money signings (Ashton and Earnie) they were both young enough at the time to have resale value.

You have to look at fair market comparisons when valuing a player.

DJ Campbell went for 1.25 Million to blackpool, playing at a higher level.
After doing well in the champs.

I still think sanity prevails and Boro does a deal, if he gets injured or boro dont go up they will lose huge.

If they take the money now they could still go up but even if they dont they will have a huge pot of money for LG1

2-3 million in LG1 buys a lot of quality.
