I live exactly half waay between Preston and Chorley.

1 hr from the Lakes, 1hr from Yorkshire Dales, 30mins from Forest of Bowland, 40min easy drive to centre of Manchester. Also easy reach of coast and snowdonia.
It's friggin ace (although it does rain quite a lot)
