I've played against Paul "there's no such thing as a friendly" Barber a few times and Kerly as well. Always though Kerly was an arrogant so and so, but he was a brilliant finisher.
I first saw Kerly, years ago playing for (East Grinstead) I think in the Truman League playoffs, in the year they were held at Eastcote, maybe around 1980. He had an attitude then, but whatever it was that made an international player he had it in bucket loads.
