What will happen is that the LDs will continue to be routed all the way through to the 2015 general election where significant numbers vote Labour and the party returns to a rump. They will be particularly massacred in the north where they are currently strong but will never be forgiven for the "cuts" which will have the biggest effect there. The situation will be almost identical to 1919 - the end of the last LibCon coalition - but that time they split into 3 not just 2 parties! Last night in Barnsley and this May's local elections will set the tone but there is no-one in a strong position to lead a challenge against Clegg. Only possibly Cable differs ideologically and he is too embedded in the cabinet hierachy.
