I disagree with you that you've not ever been. Perhaps that's differing impressions though.

I do acknowledge that you've not been part of it recently - hence my comment to that effect. I'm going to fawn all over you though, as you wouldn't expect me (or anyone) to.

Take it as a compliment, that someone saw fit to comment at all on the difference.
