that ISN'T happening to Flem so the analogy isn't relevant. He isn't being booed on the pitch and (as far as I'm aware) no-one is going up to him in the street and telling him he is crap. This site is simply the equivalent of some of your listeners discussing down the pub what they think of your performance. Which is their perfect right. Players love the adulation when they play well (bet Flem was chuffed to get his POTS! but the flip side is that you get criticism if your standards drop. Can't believe players would expect anything else or that is has any impact whatsoever on their motivation.
