Popped downstairs from the stand for a trip to the loo and a coffee and realised how awful the conditions were in the first half when the wind whistled through the concourse as the doors were left open for the smokers to get their fix.
Driving rain, poor pitch and a swirling wind yet City managed to play some really decent stuff. Up in the stands we were protected from the elements and although we saw the rain I didn?t realise how tough it was to play.
Professional performance in the second half, Barnsley didn?t really get a look in and although I was a little nervous as one goal would wake their slumbering crowd up, all Ruddy had to do was catch a few balls.
Crofts? goal was a real beauty; my only regret was that it was not at our end. Wes was masterful, and Zak was very solid apart from when he slipped over and Marlene Harwood missed their best chance.
Good to see a big old City following again. Said a quick hello to MBK who described how Selwyn bought a huge round of drinks.
Back home at 9.45pm, after a very good day out.
