Pooter help please?

As prompted I've just updated my Java, and resultantly my download speed has almost halved. I've GIYLFed and don't understand a frickun WORD of what I'm reading. So I tried to roll back to a previous version of Java, but then Vuze refused to find any Java on my pooter.

Beyond stamping and swearing, is there sommat simple I can do?
