in eastern yurp my landlord was a cop

he rang us up in a panic ....

"lock the gates, let nobody in. nobody"

we of course locked the gates thinking chuck norris is en route.....

bloke from electric company turns up and climbs over gates.

nexy day more blokes from electric company turn up and re-connect the electricity meter that the cop has disconnected.

day later, cop turns up with mate and disconnects the meter.

cop has been charging us 100 euro a month for the leccy since we moved in. when queried he says " ok, i ask electric compant to reconnect meter and you pay 3 times the price"

this permeates just about every single aspect of daily life. you just get used to it. eventually.
