from walking the dog in Eaton Park. On one of the pitches, but with no nets, was a typical park game. A group of twenty odd, most wearing assorted kits and differentiated by yellow bibs. The average age of young twenties was pushed up by two or three old, fat, baldies. A couple looked quite tidy but the majority were average sunday league division 7 types. The oldies looked like they have been good in the days we played with mouldmaster balls but looked cardiac arrest candidates today.
As I walked past I thought I recognised a distinctive running style and closer inspection confirmed it was none other than former world footballer of the year (in my mind at least) and living legend Darren Huckerby.
Wow! made my day, though funny to think he used to be paid thousands of pounds a week to play.
