and/or gullies..... I had the same in Nov....

guttering seemed fine, but the gully channels running down the roof (where the roof of the main house and the roof of the protruding lounge are at right angles) had cement falling out of the joints, thus rain water running down the gully was able to enter the loft - caused damp and mould spots on the ajoining wall.....

cost ?200 from a roofer mate to put right, then we had to wait till the room dried out, paint the wall with stain block, and decided to paper over..... all in all about ?300, which is about the same as a decent humidifier!!! (but a humidifier wont stop the problem!)
