To compare with season 2007/8

Which is closest to total points at this time of the season.

Its interesting that the top 8 averaged well under 2 points per game in the first 31 games and all still averaged under 2 points per game for the last 15 games.

Even for the top teams its so hard to get over 2 points per game over a decent stretch........

If you analyze a number of previous seasons you will note that it gives you a reasonable estimate of roughly what it will take to gain promotion or a playoff place.

From the last 15 games, what do Norwich need to do.......

Playoffs......probably six more wins are required plus a few draws.........7 wins and it would be a very strange season not to make the playoffs.

2nd Auto promotion spot...........
May only take 9 more wins plus a few draws.......10 wins and it would be amazing if we didn't nab 2nd spot.

I estimate currently 81-85 points will be required for 2nd spot, 85 points being pretty unlikley.

To win top spot would probably take an incredible run.
Probably need 11+ wins...... probably in the 87-91 point range.
On current form QPR will get 89 points......
