Dear George, Sorry about the high inflation

but it's partly your fault for putting up VAT, and it's partly the fault of the greedy commodities producers who are busy raping the world. I can't do anything about politicians putting up VAT and I can't do anything about commodity prices, so it's basically not my fault.

Anyway, a spot of inflation is just what we need to reduce the deficit, but don't tell anyone I said this because it'll f**k us on the bond markets.

You can't sack me because I know far more about everything than you do, and what's more you know that I'm basically on your side because I hated Gordon Brown so much.
