AFAIK, the company can set the price of shares at whatever level they choose. The deal was done for 80,000 units with a cost to Foulger of 2 million (chicken-feed, some might say)
The share-price was deffo set at 30 previously - the annual report says so.
Clearly a bulk-purchase liek this *might* see a discount offered, but while the club is on the up - and McTheknife is squueezing normal fans for every penny - I am surprised to see the valuation of the club being lowered.
As for unissued shares I believe that each one has a nominal value of ?1. Therefore one million new shares can be issued and their value being whatever someone would pay for them.
And in any case, if we are promoted Foulger gets over 50 per cent of this investment returned to him!
