t**tter help needed

one of my gmail accounts has received a Confirm Your Twitter account email.

I haven't asked for a twitter a/c, but I may have been viewing while logged-in using that gmail a/c.

Has someone applied for an a/c on my behalf, or are google selling my details to twitter as a potential customer?
