Our current position plus a whole host of stats......

A few weeks ago I talked about the fact that this championship season is low in terms of points at this stage of the season amongst the top 7 clubs.

Currently we have 51 points from 29 games for 1.75 points per game.
If we achieve the same form over the last 17 games we will finish on exactly 80 points.

Over the past 10 seasons it has taken an average of 87 points to hit 2nd place and automatic promotion......

But........ this is not an ordinary season....... far from it.

Only one season has been like this in terms of points achieved at this stage of the season

You will notice it only took 79 points to get 2nd and just 70 points to get to the playoffs. (average is 73, never more than 75)

Unlike last year our GD could hurt us.

The bottom line is that I predict 83 points will probably be enough for automatic promotion.

85 points will almost certainly be enough

85-51 = 34 points from 17 games............

The math is simple........ average 2 points a game and we are headed back to the prem........ its really that simple.
