Think it comes down to

the panic of "this is the last chance to improve squad" brought on by SSN constant going back and forth over the same items and counting down the time.

I must admit it draws me in as well, but once it got to 10pm I was sick of seeing someone outside Anfield and Stamford, without any more news just repeating what they said 10 minutes ago and ignoring all other clubs, also hyping it up "Have you ever seen a transfer deadline day like this before" - What people being bought for lots of money? Yes!

You can still get people on loan and there is no need to rush into getting someone just because everyone else is.

I'd rather get people we need and wait for them rather than get someone just because time is running out.
