A left back and a 31 year old League One striker so far...
...plus one loan signing....
I'm aware we're having issues getting Bennett in, with Brighton not wanting to sell him, but is this really "Going for it"??
If nothing changes before 11pm I think we can almost definitely rule out any chance of a top two finish.
We SO, SO desperately need some width in the team. The last few home games have been frustrating, as the opposition have just played narrow and we've had nothing out wide at all, nor really changed it.
If we're not getting anyone else in then Lappin MUST start on the left, with support from Drury, with Russell Martin doing the majority of the work down the entire right wing. At least then we'll have the width.
Top 6 position is still very much within our reach, but I think the guys could do with a little help. If Surman comes back and stays fit then fine, we'll have an extra man, but still not a wide player...
Think now that at the very least we'll be below QPR, Cardiff and Forest. If Leeds do get Bennett then maybe below them too. Then we're basically battling for 5th or 6th spot with the likes of Reading, Watford, Burnley, Swansea and possibly Leicester too.
Going to be a very tough run in I think!
