I remember the FA Cup semi v Everton at Villa Park...

We were in the Holte End by 1 and there were people fainting in the crush behind us - luckily someone there had brains and they opened the gate to the empty middle pen.

That was the same day as Hillsborough. Word of that spread round the terraces like wildfire - you could see the players were wondering why the fans weren't cheering any more.

Awful day.
