Their big mistake was assuming............ .........

nobody would do a hatchet job on them after 20 years of loyal employment..........

They assumed a reasonable level of privacy for comments not made on air.

At this moment in time it looks stupid and arrogant but in context it was probably reasonable.

Big wake up call for all people in TV and Radio
