Sliced cheese in an omlette is an irrelevance and a distraction from the debate.

It melts. I know because coincidently I made two cheese omlettes last night, so the memory is clear: the heat turns the cheese into what I like to call "melted cheese".

So the original state of matter doesn't matter.
