If we gain points at the rate of the first 26 games (1.69 ppg) we will finish on 78 points

That is not close to automatic promotion form as its taken an average of 87 points to make the top 2

But....... It will easily make the playoffs.

No team getting 75 points or more has failed to make the playoffs in the past 9 seasons.
The average for 6th place is around 73 points
