Am I the only one confused by this battle?

So Spurs want to knock it down and build a bespoke football stadium in it's place, AND redevelop Crystal Palace Athletics Stadium. Can't be cheap?
And West Ham want to use the stadium as it is (with a track round it), making it probably the most vacuous football ground in the world.
Surely neither of those options are ideal for any of the parties involved??
