I'd like to vote for the Everton semi in 89.

I was a stoodent in B'ham at the time so was hosting some mates from Norwich in our slum house, and although the game wasn't that memorable, we weren't good either and their goal was a lucky deflection.

But what made it a miserable experience was all the s**t that went on at the other semi-final. There were all kind of rumours going round about a repeat of Heysel, we'd been excluded from the UEFA cup as a result, and were bitter towards Liverpool fans. Then in a pub in Harborne later that evening we got talking to some Everton fans, who were concerned about friends and stuff. So we were all pretty miserable really.
