he skipped his Senior college year to enter the NFL draft so was drafted as a Junior. Both Flacco and Ryan completed their Senior seasons first.

Declaring eligible for the draft early hasn't yielded good results very often before. It's a whole year of development missed and it's hard to be given the time and space to catch up in the NFL
