It would seem a few solutions come to my mind.
Not sure how practical they are?
(1)
The current official capacity is listed at 27,000 but going by the scum game we lose around 500 seats due to seperating the fans and other natural wastage.
It would seem we could possibly create a smaller gap in the seats and then have some kind of semi permanent barrier betwen the fans.
This would probably result in far fewer seats being lost than the current cover sheet seperation method.
Another solution would be to move the away fans into a corner section so Norwich fans could have the whole of the Jarrold stand and there would be no wastage of seats!
Not sure how that would go down!
(2) The Holiday Inn
As I mentioned further down the page, I am not sure if they have some contractual right to not be obscured from viewing the game.
A cost effective solution for select games that sell out could be a temp stand in front of the hotel.
If we bought the stand, we would only have the running costs of erecting it when needed?
Anybody buying a ticket would accept they are open to the elements.
(3) This one might not go down well but in situations where there isn't quite room for an extra column of seats they could maybe make each seat slightly smaller. (or move them slightly closer somehow)
It probably wouldnt be noticible but spread over a row of 50-100 seats it would be enough to get in extra seats at the end.
To be honest this is probably the least practical solution as we have already adjusted a number of seats to boost our capacity to 27,000 on the last go around.
(4) Make the pitch slightly smaller!
If you could slightly adjust the pitch in certain spots you could add another row along the whole length of the stand.
Again, not sure how this would go down!
