Well that's probably a lie but anyway...
Having listened to McNally and reflected on the decisions taken by the club, is it not blindingly obvious that the path they took was as a direct result of their irritation at the 'unprofessionalism' of a 'small club'. That they reacted to Burnley's gauche behaviour by taking an ultra-professional line?
I don't agree with some that the statement from the club, followed by Lambert's stonewalling was sufficient to put the whole thing to bed. The pair of them aren't stupid; they will have known full well that a refusal to categorically say "I'm going nowhere" yesterday morning was bound to create ripples.
However, I kind of think that's what they wanted. I really, really do.
