Dunno. Don't know the UK market as well, and what I do notice there is that the

coverage per provider varies dramatically depending on geographical location (whereas over here it's all pretty similar wherever you are).

What I can deduce, though, is that if you get T-Mobile or Orange (Everything Everywhere), you should be able to use both the T-Mobile and Orange networks for 3G and since T-Mobile and 3 share a network, you can therefore use T-Mobile, Orange AND 3's coverage for 3G.

If you get 3 then you will only be able to use T-Mobile and 3 for 3G and Orange for 2G (although eventually this year it will be added for 3G as well).

And I have no idea what the customer service is like for those companies in the UK !

Best to just ask locals from precisely the area you will be spending most of your time, to be honest.
