It wouldn't have worked, but people (*I*) get away with worse gags in here.

Honestly, though, how frigging boring, every damn year: can't drive anywhere, garage closed so can't get car fixed, only one local car hire service (no cars available three years on the trot), larger car hire firms all on holiday, no cars in the local paper so I can't even buy a ?200 stop-gap etc etc.

Dull. DULL.
