question about the transfer window and player registration?

The window opens on the 1st Jan which happens to fall on a Saturday.

Is it possible to buy someone at midnight and then play them on Sat.

Is there a certain player registration time limit between signing and playing?
Does the player have to be registered 24 hours before the game?

Fuck it would be a real shame if the undersoil heating failed at Carrow road and the QPR game was called off!
