I'm all for that, but that does seem very idealistic.

However, in reality these things often don't turn like that. I couldn't see the attraction for some energy company to buy it with these covenants in place. It would be great if they were bought by National Trust etc, but then who would be up for having to pay to walk where it was once free.

It's a tough one to call.
