Canaries Player, iPhone / Android App, et al...

I emailed PTV to ask if there were plans to create an iPhone / Android app or, say, an HTML5 mobile web app to allow listening to the commentary on a mobile device for Player customers.

Numpties.

I did respond, although I doubt they will even bother to read it, pointing out:

1) NO iPhones support Flash, and never will
2) It doesn't have to be Flash - plenty of other secure streaming methods out there which it does support (examples being things like Spotify and the NFL commentary apps).
3) No reason at all why there should have to be separate subscriptions for a mobile app and the website - just use the common backend authorisation which is already there
4) Expats such as myself already pay through the nose for only the commentary since they removed the audio commentary only subscription (think it was only about a tenner - now you have to pay almost 40 quid for the complete thing even if you don't use it), so it would be a bit f**king cheeky to charge extra for mobile commentary.
5) However, they would open up a new customer base (potentially) because the majority of fans are local and can listen to the games on Radio Norfolk, but if they allowed the app to be used by full-sub-paying Player users OR a new bunch who only have access to the commentary, and only on the mobile app, it's possible that some locals would also use it as it would be so convenient to listen to the game whilst out and about if not at the game.
6) If they don't do it, some bright spark is just going to work out (and it's not hard) how to restream it for free.

Doubt I will receive any response but the message is - don't hold your breath
