Player Signings (WARNING - ultra long therapeutic post)

The more I think about the players we have signed this summer the more angry I get. I just cannot see where the plan is, there seems to be no logic behind any of it. We were in a unique situationthis summer that we may never be in again. We cam down from the Premiership with a squad that we did not HAVE to pull to pieces (although eventually lost Francis) and therefore had a good starting point to build around. This was the one time in recent years were we would have been a big pull for players in this league - big favourites for promotion. We should have been signing very good championship players who were nailed on certaintees to do well in this league.
Keith Gillespie: POS at Leicester last season and doing well for Sheff Utd who are top.
Jason Koumas: Skilful quality player in this league with a bit of flair (POTS 2 years ago) - now doing reallly well at Cardiff
Darren Purse: big, prescence - no doubt would have bolstered our centre backs
There are countless others, Paul Ifil, Leroy Lita, Danny Webber Mark Edworthy! Darren Anderton the list goes on.

I am sorry but our signings have not been good enough end of.
Louis-Jean: Shadow of player he was 3 years ago, seems to have lost all pace. Joined from a club who underachieved horribly and were disgracefully relegated (sound familiar?)
J Colin: A gamble signing - has almost no physical prescence and is beaten every time at far post. Positional play is at times abysmal. We can only have been stronger with Edworthy still about.
Jarrett: Complete non-entity of a fotballer. Have never seen a big guy display such lack of physical prescence. Wigan fans warned he was not that good - they were right.
Hughes: Simple endeavour cannot make up for a fundamental lack of real ability. Running about a bit and (with occasional success managing to pass sideways) may be acceptable to some people - but we were meant to be assembling a team to push for automatic promotion. He will have some effective games but he is simply not good enough technically to take us where we want to go. A Reading supporting mate actually laughed at me when he heard we had signed him.
Marney: Again, we should have been signing ready made Champ players. Marney has some nice technique but he is far too inexperienced and lightweight to be playing for a team that wanted to win the league. Simply not up too it yet.
Thorne: Why lose a younger and technically far better player in Svensson who wanted a 2 year deal - then give one to an aged and injuryprone journeyman? Panic signing.

I desperately do not want Worthington to go - but the bottom line is he has identified and brought in these players - what the hell was he thinking? I simply cannot see us improving with these players in our side.
