btw, this isn't a Tory defending policy, Ed Balls was very much in agreement that Ireland should be helped in this way.

this is me being pro-Irish and pro-Euro (cos the Euro isn't what's f**ked Ireland over, and re-establishing the Punt won't save the country - the Punt would be f**king annihilated on the currency markets - it's by being part of the Euro that is what's really giving Ireland a fighting chance)
