The Thing Is Re.Schmeichel...

If he had come out and bundled over one of our players in much the same way, you couldn't guarantee a penalty would have been given, indeed, there would have been an argument that he came out for the ball and his momentum carried him into our player.

All hell breaks out in a congested penalty area in just about every football match whenever a corner is awarded, including all the jostling beforehand. Its exactly the same when the ball is being sent in and over in free play, bodies everywhere, pushing, pulling, tugging and tripping, if every offence ended up with a whistle being blown, there would be less momentum in the game than there is in Rugby.

Rightly or wrongly, its a time and a chance for players to have a go, defending or attacking, and, 9 out of 10, they get away with it. Had Leeds scored in an identical manner they'd all be crowing about it and saying that its part of the game and how "hard" they all are etc etc etc.

For their supporters to be going on some sort of moral crusade about how they were the great victims in this is hilarious and raises my opinion of them from beyond dislike (which is at least an emotion that requires a little energy and concentration) to one of utter indifference, they simply aren't worth anything, anything at all.

I'm glad we are playing with such energy and presence, it's been missing for many years. These goals and decisions, you get some, you lose out on others, thats the game and I have no doubt we'll be on the receiving end of a few ourselves between now and May.
