Melancholy and Norwich City

Where to start after yesterday? For me it has to be us - the fans. In all my years of going to matches, I have never seen anything like the support we gave the team in the second half yesterday, totally undeserved support in many ways, that given the context of the situation would never have been matched by the vast majority of clubs throughout the country. I don't think I'll ever forget that TWENTY minutes (yes TWENTY, non stop) rendition of "Nigel Worthington's Gren + Yellow Army, Delia's Barmy Army), that I believe actually single handedly sucked Norwich back in to the game. I would just love to know how the players felt hearing that - knowing how badly they had let us down but were still being backed to the hilt. It is an indication of the sorry mess we are in that a scrambled goal at Watford to mean we were only losing 2-1 was the most mental I've felt celebrating a goal - even at the levels of the Man Utd game. It sickens me that we are a team going nowhere, who have signed the wrong players, and have blown our first chance in a decade to really kick on and establish ourselves as a top side again. Today is the lowest I have felt in years after a City game. We may beat Ipswich, we may not, but ultimately the saddest fact is that we are not going anywhere this season - we are just not that good.

Now where is that noose I saw on the way to work...

"We love you Norwich, we do..."
