Mike Phelan, currently 1st team coach at Man Utd.
Ex-player of course, and someone who could take the reins in tandem with David Williams, an ex-team mate, so they know each other already, in addition, Phelan and Williams were both on the coaching staff at Man Utd together for a while.
Phelan will have learnt his coaching trade under Ferguson, and also worked under McLaren for a while (don't know if thats a good thing now!) as well as Quiroz.
Likes to play "proper" football, (ie) passing and keeping it on the floor, pass and move, has lots of national and international experience, will have a network of friends and contacts in the game and is, hopefully, ambitious.
Sure, a risk, but I reckon one worth considering if Worthy walks (which is the only option, as the club will not sack him)
