Well, the personnel were similar to those who finished the game on Saturday, but their play was totally different. We defended deeply and despite best endeavours we could not make Millwall look good! The Millwall fans I was with thought that Millwall were playing well, if stringing three passes together once every ten minutes before giving the ball away, miss controlling it or putting it out for a throw in/corner is good then there are dire times in Bermondsey, not that Bermondsey isn?t always dire! We lacked the urgency we had shown second half on Saturday, MacNamee played deeper, Korey wasn?t bombing forward as he could from full back. Highlight of the half was Wes going shoulder to thigh with Danny Shittu and coming off best!
Second half we upped the anti and with Jackson and Gill coming on for Wes and MacNamee. We began to look menacing. Holt was being his obnoxious self and got booked for his trouble after a blatant foul and had the audacity to claim the player dived. He had no choice after his legs were taken out from beneath him. We deservedly took the lead when Fox hit a thunderbolt from just inside the box and we looked comfortable going into the four minutes of extra time. How do they work this out, as there had barely been a break in play and I can?t remember either trainer coming on? In what felt like the 97th minute Millwall won a corner and somehow managed to bundle the ball into the back of the net at the far post. We then played another four minutes of extra (added) time where nothing happened.
