maybe that's a bit far

but without Essien, Ghana played in a way where he was the key man in pretty much every game in the World Cup. They were a pen away from reaching the semis and if he had scored that then Forlan probably wouldn't have featured much in these lists either. He's got a goal a game so far in the Prem I think as well.
