Top Norfolk-based journalist Worzel Scrimmage has hit out at plans to replace current final salary pension schemes with a ?career average? equivalent.
Speaking from the balcony of his mortgage-free penthouse overlooking Norwich Cathedral Scrimmage was scathing of the move which he says will lead to ?a dumbing down of the necessary skill-set required to communicate the facts of any given exciting news story to the people of Norfolk and the surrounding area?.
Employers on the other hand see the move as an acceptable and inevitable step for an industry from which the true art of journalism has long since disappeared and where anyone with a laptop and half a brain can produce work of equivalent quality for half the money.
