Both parties are striking because their contracted terms are being altered.
BBC staffers signed up for a pension to which they contributed and which guaranteed a level of income at retirement.
The BBC cut its contributions to the bone in the 90s, paid into secret exec schemes, and is now (effectively) cutting some future pensions by 30 per cent (by limiting the annual increase in pensionable salary).
If you think that is not worth fighting for then you clearly aren't very bright.
