Doesn't sound like great deer management

There was a really big stag up on the Glenfinnan estate near us. He was carefully preserved for years and years, till eventually he lost a fight in the rut. At that point you know he's on the way out so they let some German shoot him.

But you can understand why people take the money early, times are tough
