you dont win promotion by beating the top teams.

This is pretty much a proven fact.

we averaged 2.06 points a game last year.

against the 6 teams that finished below us we averaged 1.75 points a game

2.17 points/game the rest of the division.

Its beating the teams you should beat that gain you promotion while splitting points with the better teams.
