They "do" whatever members scrobble

You see, people sign up and download a scrobbler, which is a little app that posts info about what one is listening to. Near everything scrobbled has at least a 30 second sample; but there are also full length tracks too (often uploaded by bands or labels).

All this info is aggregated and based on your listening habits it can make recommendations based on everyone else's listening habits.
