I thought we were all flat - players and crowd.

And both fed off each other, leading to poor performances by both.

Palace were really poor, but you could see them grow in confidence after the equaliser.

I thought Smith has promise, but still needs to get match practice. And given the 72hrs he had had before, I don't blame him for not being totally switched on.

Askou for me was just rusty (not Darel).

What annoyed me more was Holt's insistence on going wide, and our total lack of ideas in breaking down their defence. If I could see that lumping high balls was tantamount to giving it back to their giant central defender for free, why couldn't Lambert and the players?
