I thought some of our HoF appointments were a bit over the top but...

apparently Dutch Premier division Excelsior (from Rotterdam) have officially named their south stand the Robin van Persie stand. He was there at the opening this month.

That's odd enough in itself, without the fact that he was in their youth academy but never ever played a game for them before going to local rivals Feyenoord as a teenager.
