I want to see what John Henry does to them.
John Henry is a massive numbers man. First thing he did at the Red Sox was try to appoint Billy Beane as General Manager. Beane is probably the most effective user of sabermetrics (the study of baseball by numerical analysis). Beane turned him down so he appointed instead Theo Epstein, a barely out of college Yale graduate to do the same thing.
Result: Boston actually got a sensible team together for not huge money. Won their first World Series in 80 odd years.
