I know quite a lot more about Hillsborough than you do, having had some involvement in the case at one point

I know that it was basically not their fault, that the police f**ked it up massively and then lied to cover it up (and I played a small part in helping reveal that)

None of that makes it a no go zone. Shit happens, eventually enough time passes to make it possible to make very mild jokes about it (for example the Titanic sinking)
