I dunno about that. Could take it at face value - or could read between the lines: "We've just got relgeated and now's not the time to rock the boat."

He doesn't say he WANTS to be here next season - just that he's expecting to be. i.e. until someone else offers him a contract, or we terminate his, he's expecting to be back here. Don't think that's ery conclusive either way, myself.
